Musical Interlude: I remember being totally blown away by this truly awesome live music performance by the legendary rock band Aerosmith on an MTV Special back in 1991. I was in my 20s back then.

The combination of one of my favorite rock bands and a world renowned orchestra performing one of my favorite songs in concert together was truly mind blowing for me

The song, a true Aerosmith classic, called "Dream On" was Aerosmith's very first single off of their debut album in 1973, an incredible 36 years ago! 

Dream On was written by Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler and the lyrics to this classic song are both prophetic and so timeless. Check these lyrics out:

Lived and learned from fools and from Sages

You know it's true.

All the things, come back to you.

Sing with me, sing for the year

Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears

Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away.

Wow! My own personal interpretation of the meaning of this song has always moved me because when Tyler sings the words:

"Sing with me, sing for the year, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears. Sing with me just for today, maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away"... 

...what he is in essence saying is that no matter what life throws at you, good or bad, to LIVE aka Sing, because tomorrow is not at all promised to any of us.

What age old wisdom! When combined with the lyrics above, Steven Tyler laid out a HUGE piece of the puzzle in relation to the journey of what life is all about just within the lyrics of this one song. 

The question is...can you figure it out?

And keep in mind, even though the lyrics speak of having lived a lifetime, (or lifetimes), not only was this the first ever song by Aerosmith aka their debut song in 1973, but Steven Tyler wrote it when he was just 22 or 23 years old!  

This along with his high energy and spirit, is definitely the tell tale signs of a fellow "old soul."

What is even cooler about Aerosmith is that their music just keeps living on and on, being passed from generation to generation. 

For example, the following live performance video of Aerosmith was initially posted by a 15 year old female Aerosmith fan named Kelly, before it was removed off You Tube and many of the comments/fans of the former you tube clip were 12, 13, 14, 15 year olds! 

These are kids who are basically crazy about a rock band who began in the 70s! 

Too cool! 

Of course it does not hurt that it seems that Aerosmith is timeless. 

For example, the following live performance clip was filmed in 1991, 18 years ago and also 18 years after Dream On first debuted...and as you will soon see, they totally kick ass...and they look good too! 

Steven Tyler totally rules, as usual, and guitarist Joe Perry, whom I use to have a HUGE crush on, is also truly awesome, as is the rest of this legendary band.

And they still are performing great on the road this year according to many of the comments on the other You Tube video I previously had up before it was removed...you know, those 12 and 13 years olds? 

And Steven Tyler just turned 61 this year, (2009!) AMAZING!

Also what is great about the song, Dream On, and why it makes a good fit for this website, is that it encourages you to do exactly what I keep encouraging you guys to do throughout this website.

Before We Get To The Rest Of "The University Of You", An Important Point...

Everything Is For Increase

There is a universal law that can be seen in nature and through observation, can change how you choose to respond to your world. That law is simply "Everything is for Increase." 

This is a premise or starting point from which you can not only build a magnificent life, but quickly overcome any obstacle or problem with great ease.

Increase is the law that keeps life alive and constantly moving forward... growing. When we see (with our eyes) things moving into a downward cycle, we need to remember the law of increase which says: All that does not support growth and advancement to nature or humans will disintegrate and be used to further more life.

The Divine knows what man and nature need at all points in time to sustain the increase of life on a ongoing basis. Death, disease, problems, falling markets, failing businesses, world problems, etc are all signs of disintegration to which new and more abundant life will form and is forming.

We see this with our own eyes and it's obvious that most people don't understand this process because they attempt to hold tightly to the old in a frantic fear of the unknown. Something better must always grow out of the disintegration of things that no longer support life.

You can fight and plan and run yourself ragged trying to hold on to what must pass (by divine law) but eventually the Universe will always get its way.

However, when you understand this law and realize it applies to YOUR life also, you can begin at once to let go of your attachment to the old and instead embrace the new as it comes in. Big problems occur usually when we have been resisting and avoiding the changes for a long period of time.

The problems build and build until something snaps and then we have a tragedy on our hands. But even in the midst of a tragedy, we can, if we will focus on the Law of Increase, turn things around on a dime.

Gratitude also plays a very large role in the Law of Increase because when you resent change, you can't be grateful and yet gratitude evokes the Universe to bring you more of what is required to fulfill your great purpose.

Be grateful for all things because all things contribute to life and are necessary for you to be prosperous.

Evolving in regard to forgiving someone you thought you could or would never forgive. I could go on and on. This is all Evolution. You continuously evolving from one reality to another. What is true for you today may not be true for you tomorrow, next week, next year, etc. We change as we learn, experience, grow. This is also called Life.
