Now, On To The Silent Revolution...

For Context, I Would First Like To Begin With What I Feel Is A Very Significant Quote From Spiritual Teacher Andrew Cohen In Regard To "The Shift":

No More Fairy Tales

Two Western spiritual teachers came for a visit last week. One was American; one was English. They both claimed to be enlightened. They actually told me they were. And I think, to some degree, it was true. They both had undergone many powerful transformative spiritual episodes and were considered by some to be masters or gurus in their own right. They both had a light in their eyes, the unmistakable shine of consciousness that has been awakened beyond the veil of the separate self-sense. They both radiated and transmitted a personal kindness and inspired enthusiasm about life that is unique to individuals who are spiritually awakened. They also both spoke nonstop about their own lives, their own work, their own beliefs, and their excitement about their own futures. We didn’t really have two-way conversations . . . but I’m a good listener!

I did genuinely enjoy their company, but I remember what struck me after the second meeting had ended was that they both shared a view that is common among spiritual adepts that I believe is out of date. (Even enlightened people have to keep up with the times, have to continue to evolve, have to keep moving forward.) They both kept referring to the common popular refrain among nontraditional “mystical” believers that “something’s happening in consciousness.” And because something mysterious and powerful is happening at the mystic level for an individual, a group of individuals, or many groups of individuals at the deepest unseen internal level, that a big external “shift” is imminent.

There’s nothing new about this particular idea but I find it remarkable that even today, when we’re well on our way into the twenty-first century, that many spiritually minded individuals seem to be the last ones to get what’s really happening right now. The “big shift” that’s about to occur is occurring on the national stage in our Presidential election. This election will make an immeasurable difference on just about every level for literally billions of real living souls all over our precious planet Earth. There’s nothing mystical about this shift and how important and meaningful it is for all of us who put consciousness first and foremost.

Let’s give up the need to believe in fairy tales. Consciousness doesn’t exist or work in mysterious ways outside of or away from the innermost depths of our individual and collective selves. Awakening to consciousness and its movements, its evolutionary leaps forward and its infinite failed attempts to do so, can be clearly and obviously discerned by looking closely at human history—from the most heinous crimes of the most notorious dictators to the highest spiritual attainments of our most revered saints and mystical luminaries.

Consciousness is not a mysterious dimension where forces disconnected from human volition are at work making all things possible or not. Consciousness is who we all are at the deepest level of our interiors—and how profound our recognition of that is can be seen through the choices we make and the actions we take. The more we not only awaken to that fact but take responsibility for it, the more quickly this world will become the paradise that we all long for in our most inspired moments.

Amen Andrew! I couldn't have said it better myself! I would like to state that I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY with Andrew Cohen's request for "no more fairy tales." It is time for them to end....once and for all, regardless of how well-intentioned they may be! Adding my own opinion to Andrew's totally "on point " opinion, one of the reasons why this website evolved the way it did is because of the belief that all though very well intentioned, many in the New Spirituality/New Consciousness Movement were totally off the mark and as Andrew so aptly stated above, some are very much "outdated". Big Time!

I have been what I would call, "an observer" of the entire Consciousness Movement for a long time, and the opinion that I would add to Andrew's opinion above is related to the notion promoted by many in the Movement, that by just a small percentage of individuals becoming "conscious" this will enable all to eventually become conscious. I believe that this may be connected to what some have called the "hundreth monkey" theory. 

Don't get me wrong, I totally believe that there is serious validity to the Hundredth Monkey Theory, (to learn more about the Hundreth Monkey Theory, please go to our web page titled, "The Hundreth Monkey Saga"), but I think that many in the Movement have made a HUGE leap in regard to it's actual effect in regard to the overall Consciousness of Humanity. In many ways, it's become part of the "consensus" within the Movement.

It reminds me of the Late President Ronald Reagan and the Republican Party's "wet dream" infamously known as "Trickle Down Economics". You know, the notion that if you enrich and empower the top percentage income groups in America, it will all just "trickle down" and benefit and enrich the entire Whole aka the rest of the country? Well, we saw how well that fairy tale turned out, didn't we? 

We are ALL here on a journey to become more conscious. Everyone is in a different stage on that journey, but our destination is all the same. 

To say that the Universe/Creator/God orchestrated itself in such a way that empowerment, liberation and consciousness would lie in the hands of a few that would, in turn, lift us all, is not only a fairy tale, but in my personal opinion, is insulting to humanity as a whole. 

That is NOT the way it works! 

Where does the ultimate responsibility of consciousness, empowerment, liberation ultimately lie? The responsibility lies with you and me. No one else can liberate you or "coast you into consciousness", my friends. The responsibility lies with you and you alone.

We ALL have critical roles to play in this rapidly emerging New World. If you did not, you simply would not be here. This very website is my response to this truth. You see, I am not just merely criticizing, I am offering "constructive criticism" via the creation of this very website.

 The "Scales Of Human Consciousness" theory and the like are highly informative, interesting and enlightening, but EVERYONE is here to become empowered, to become conscious, to become liberated, to become Free. This is the Divine Right of each and every human being on this planet. It is time for us to stop the fairy tales and to get on with doing what each and everyone of us came here to do, aka our life's purpose or "reason for being". All hands on deck are needed! This is what we ALL signed up for, whether we consciously realize this or not. 

We fulfill our individual roles towards the betterment of the world by us each fulfilling our life's purpose, which is the reason we showed up here in the first place. This is the reason why the importance of living your life's mission and purpose is promoted so strongly via the pages of this website. Again, to access almost 200 extraordinary Free tools and resources which will help you to do just that, please go to the web page on this website titled "Living Your Life's Purpose."

July 13th 1985...Do you remember where you were?

Here's a hint...It was a Saturday and what happened that day changed music history!

"For one day - July 13th. 1985 - an estimated 1.5 billion of the planet's then 5 billion people stopped and watched Bob Geldolf's "Global Jukebox", the historic Live Aid Concert, and were treated to one of the biggest, most ambitious concerts ever staged. At one point, it is estimated that 85 percent of the world's television sets were tuned into Live Aid - an even more incredible statistic when you consider that it happened before the Internet, cell phones, email, text messaging, instant messaging and blogging. Through music and an eminently worthy cause, much of the world actually felt connected - even at the height of the eminently selfish "Me Decade"."

And that is no exaggeration, Live Aid did indeed...Change The World!

Briefly, for those who do not know, Live Aid:

About 1.5 billion viewers in 150 countries - the biggest-ever TV audience - watched. The goal was to raise $1 million to help feed starving children in Africa and was the brainchild of Bob Geldolf, lead singer for the british rock band "The Boomtown Rats". 

Geldolf used the latest TV satellite technology to link up Wembley Stadium in London, JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, and a host of smaller venues in other countries to blitz the World's TV Networks. The 16 hour concert featured some of the biggest names in rock music history...

The goal was to raise one million dollars that day...they ended up raising $140 million, an astounding sum of money raised in one day more than 20 years ago. Beyond the direct aid rendered, the concert changed the world's perception of Africa and raised global awareness of hunger issues, and is considered by many to be "rock and roll's finest hour". 

"Cited as the second most memorable event in two generations, and as the single greatest moment in the 50 year history of rock and roll, beating not only the launch of MTV and Elvis's first record, but also the seminal festival of the 60's, Woodstock, Live Aid changed the global political agenda forever."

Most importantly, it focused the attention of 1.5 billion citizens around the world on the then greatly ignored issue of starving children in Africa. It was a who's who of contemporary music; united in their unequivocal support to prevent the mass death of a starving people.

Live Aid was truly a transcendent event. It changed many lives, mine included!

I had almost forgotten all about Live Aid until last year, (2007), when it just happened to come up during a marathon phone conversation I was having with my ex boyfriend. I think we were on the subject of music and I suddenly remembered Live Aid and asked him if he remembered it. It turned out he, like me, not only remembered the concert but remembered the exact circumstances he watched it. In 1985, he had just moved to the U.S. from Hungary, to pursue his Art Career, (he's a brilliant artist), and he was living in New York City at the time, and he remembers watching the Concert while laying on a bunk bed. 

My story is a little more...let's say, eccentric. I was a 20 year old virgin, (I was a late bloomer), who had been dating my first boyfriend and first love for 6 months, and we had planned to finally "consummate" our relationship that weekend. My ex boyfriend, Marc, had planned for us to spend this really romantic weekend in this expensive hotel because we were FINALLY going to have sex, and he wanted it to be very special for me. A weekend to remember! It was a weekend to remember, alright! I chickened out! I couldn't do it. 

So, after the Friday night that never was, we ended up spending all day at the hotel Saturday watching the Live Aid Concert...and it's just hitting me how much Marc must have loved me because on top of blowing a fortune on a weekend where I promised a lot more than I ended up giving, he watched a marathon rock concert with me all day the next day. 

Marc absolutely HATED rock music...it was like fingernails on a chalkboard for him. But, he did not complain. I, on the other hand, was in total bliss! I was watching this awesome concert cuddled up with the man I loved!

*Was the relationship ever consummated? Yes, but it took another 6 months!

Although the entire concert was awesome, one concert performance stood head and shoulders above the rest and it was THIS particular music performance that changed my life! 

The band that changed my life and the lives of many others?

The Band U2!

I was one of a few people, at least in the U.S., who was watching the concert mostly to see U2 perform live. At that time, U2 was big in Europe but was just beginning to catch on here in the U.S. Their breakthrough song here,"Pride In The Name Of Love" had just been released and was their first real U.S. hit. I had discovered U2 much earlier as a senior in high school in 1983, after discovering their song "Two Hearts Beat As One", which was off of their excellent third album, "War". I became an instant fan and began to devour everything U2!

I was so inspired by their passion, their intensity, as well as their musical and poetic artistry and "tightness" as a band, (I don't know of any other band that could sound as musically coherent and pitch perfect as U2 did back then utilizing only 3 instruments - a guitar, a bass and drums...in addition to Bono's vocals). Bono is definitely the star of the band but anyone who appreciates music knows that U2 would not be U2 without Edge, Larry and Adam. 

They are definitely a unit aka ONE!

I was this young sheltered and very shy girl from the South Side of Chicago who somehow felt connected with these 4 young guys, who were also my age, from Dublin, Ireland. These young guys who were devout Christians at the time, yet who still chose to creatively and rebelliously protest, via their music, what had been called "the troubles", the tragic and seemingly endless religious war between the Catholics and the Protestants in Northern Ireland. These guys were about action, "doing something" and the fact that they used their art to protest so creatively was fascinating to me back then.

A great movie to watch in relation to the tragic toll this war had on many families living in Northern Ireland is the incredible movie "The Boxer" starring Daniel Day Lewis and Emily Watson. When Live Aid came along, U2 was just becoming known in the U.S. "Pride" was their only true U.S. hit at the time of Live Aid. After Live Aid, not only was I a HUGE fan, but so were millions of others here in the U.S, in addition to the rest of the world. To quote CNN:

"Many of the opening acts had a bit of a second-on-the-bill feel to it. U2 changed all that. This was the moment which assured the band it's place in rock music history."

When me and my ex boyfriend spoke of Live Aid last year, awakening so many great and moving memories, it was U2's amazing performance we spoke of. While on the phone, my ex went to You Tube and found the performance for me and I watched it for the first time in 22 years...and I cried just as U2 moved me to cry when I first saw this performance 22 years before. The performance was of a totally unknown song at the time called "Bad". I had never heard it and most other people had not either. 

That's what makes the performance of "Bad" that much more incredible, that this fairly new, up and coming band could perform a totally unfamiliar song before a packed stadium of more than 90,000 people, which was also simulcast to 1.5 billion people worldwide, and for this single performance to become one of THE defining performances at a concert filled with most of music's most celebrated rock legends also performing is pretty unbelievable. On top of all of this, U2's performance changed lives all over the world.

"It was U2 that nearly stole the show with an absolutely transcendent and exhilarating performance.  Employing it's now familiar "take no prisoners" approach, the Irish Quartet zealously blasted through "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Bad" with a vengeance. On the song "Bad", Bassist Adam Clayton and Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. settled into a lock step, rhythmic march while the Guitarist, the Edge's guitar ablaze sprayed shrapnel through the heart of the militant anthem. It showcased U2 at their finest. The soaring, gospel-infused intensity of Bono's vocals transformed "Bad" into a powerful force for spiritual healing and, inevitably, for world change."

There is much talk about how the momentous "Harmonic Convergence" which took place August 15 - 17 1987, changed the course of history for our planet. Undoubtly that is very true, but I truly believe that 1985's Live Aid, which happened two years before the Harmonic Convergence occurred, was a very important precursor which helped tremendously in laying the groundwork for that life changing 1987 event. 

It cannot be otherwise when you are talking about 1.5 billion people from all over the world simultaneously brought together at the exact same time, connected by the love of music, (music = harmony aka "harmonic"), and for the loving and compassionate cause to help to feed millions of starving children. 

The world was "entrained" by music on that momentous and beautiful day. It was truly a day that changed the world in many more ways than is currently realized.

In my personal opinion, no music performance entrained and mesmerized the citizens of the world more on that incredible day, than U2's moving performance of "Bad". 

And the verse from the song that has continuously echoed and stayed with me for the last 23 years?

Wide awake.

I'm wide awake.

Wide awake.

Oh, no...

I'm not sleeping.

That verse "woke me up" that day...and I am sure many, many others!

Interestingly, Bono sung that verse only TWICE during the entire 12 minute performance of "Bad",  yet that was the verse most quoted in the more than 2800 comments posted at You Tube. 

Those are the words remembered the most. I even originally thought the title of  the song was "Wide Awake."

Written and produced almost 30 years ago, The Jacksons, who were always cutting edge and before their time artistically, foretold of a time that seemed fanciful and overly utopian then, but today is very REAL. 

Of course, The Jacksons were merely seeing the future, something that was inevitable but which few people were conscious of at that time. Fortunately, today many people are a lot more conscious! 

As I mention on the web page "Cool Music For Your Soul", music has always been an integral part of my life since the day that I was born, growing up with brothers who were extremely talented and well known within the Chicago Music Scene and a Mom who sang and played the piano almost daily in our home. At one point, I lived and breathed music and even dreamed of fronting my own band. 

My main purpose for leaving Chicago for Los Angeles in 1990 was to study Music Production at a Hollywood School I discovered in an ad in the back of Rolling Stone magazine. My musical tastes have always been very broad...I just LOVE great music, no matter what genre, but I would have to say that if I had music idols growing up, those idols were most definitely Michael Jackson and The Jacksons. Their pictures and posters were all over my bedroom walls! It is so great to be able to pay homage to them here.

Growing up on the Southside of Chicago, I lived just 25 minutes from where the Jackson 5 were born and raised in Gary, IN. In their earlier days, they performed a great deal in Chicago. My Aunt Jean's family also lived in Gary, so that gave me a special connection as well. When we visited, we always made sure to drive by the Jacksons old home in Gary.

Michael Jackson and the Jacksons were the first people who inspired me to dream! And they were almost from the neighborhood!

Interestingly, the song "Can You Feel It?" by the Jacksons has become a kind of theme song for President Obama in the Chicago area. I was told that one of the radio stations in Chicago played this song with parts of Obama's speeches mixed into the song continuously the night that Obama won the election.

In regard to the time which the song references...The Time Is Now! Can You Feel It?

Like I said...The Jacksons were definitely always before their time! And they also knew exactly where humanity was headed. Keep in mind, this video is 29 years old!

Since that video had a lot of sound effects, making it difficult to hear the lyrics of the song, the next you tube clip is just the "Can You Feel It?" song and the lyrics to the song...which as you will see, are extremely timely and profound.

Of all the Jackson's albums, I believe that their 1980 album Triumph, which is the album which includes the above song "Can You Feel It", is the most groundbreaking and relevant recording in their entire catalog of music. 

Triumph was only the second album from The Jacksons after they went through a much publicized and painful breakup with their former record company Motown, the main issue being the Jacksons wanting to have full creative control of their own music and Motown objecting to this. 

The Jacksons were at a very critical stage in their professional career at that time, attempting to transition from their bubble gum pop image of The Jackson 5 into a more mature and creatively daring group, and many inside and outside the industry thought that they would not be able to pull it off. 

The conventional wisdom was that Motown was the "puppet master" and the Jacksons were the puppets, and this opinion was not so far fetched to the general public or the music industry because many teen-age acts of that era were indeed creations of the studios with very little depth or creative ability. But the Jacksons knew differently about themselves and they fought against Motown and the press to have the full creative control they felt they deserved. 

This high profile clash was made even more painful because one of the Jackson brothers sided with Motown, which eventually caused a huge long term rift within the Jackson family, with one brother staying with Motown and the rest of the brothers moving on to CBS Records. 

The Jacksons had a great deal to prove because up until that point, no one outside of them really knew if they had any real talent for producing and writing aka having the talent needed to have full creative control. 

Michael Jackson, of course, had demonstrated big time that he had the "creative chops" with the landmark album "Off The Wall" in 1979, and The Jacksons first album on the CBS label "Destiny", was a great debut of their production skills and gave more than a hint at what the Jacksons could do creatively on their own, but it was the groundbreaking album Triumph which told the true story of their musically creative capabilities. 

Triumph was exactly that...a triumph! 

It was made even more of a poignant triumph because, on top of everything else, the youngest Jackson brother, Randy had been in a near fatal car accident during the making of the album, which many thought he would never recover from.  

Written, produced, arranged, and composed entirely by the Jackson brothers, the 1980 album Triumph showcased the group at their creative peak without being under anyone else's supervision. Their previous album, Destiny was the appetizer, a great piece of work but still kind of tentative, I felt. 

Triumph, on the other hand, was the Jacksons just going hog wild creatively, with no limitations, realizing possibly because of Randy's near brush with death, that life is short and each day is a blessing to be lived to it's creative fullest. Every song on Triumph is tight, there are no filler songs on the album whatsoever.  

It was truly a collaborative effort with Jackie and Randy joining Michael in much of the writing, in addition to sharing the lead vocals. In a nutshell, Triumph was an artistically innovative, complex and richly textured work of art...totally ahead of it's time. I believe it was a watershed album for the music industry as a whole, particularly for that time.

Just listen to what I consider to be the album's masterpiece, the song "This Place Hotel", (Heartbreak Hotel), today and try to imagine just how much more you would have been completely blown away listening to it almost 30 years ago when it first came out..realizing that you had never, ever heard anything like it before at that time! For me, it was jaw-dropping.

The Jacksons more than proved themselves creatively and artistically with this album. 

Triumph also foreshadowed the musical rabbit hole Michael was going to go down a few years later with the record breaking "Thriller" album.

Great Shift of Consciousness - The Passion
"A great shift is in the making: A time for very deep purification and cleansing from the inner core within ourselves and within the Earth up to the outer manifest reality. How this will all play out is our choice.

Many will understand the need for inner and outer focus on unity and love. However, many others will remain under the grip of their programmed old ways and thus experience this world with much fear while focusing on dis-unity.

This is a time where our greatest force shall emerge from its hidden inner recesses as we face our greatest challenge: a transformation and trans-evolution of mankind when our thought processes transmute from a harsh concentration on lack toward a gentler constant awareness of the beauty and unity of all within the ONE that we all are here to manifest.

This is a time prophesied for eons where, in this world created around the notion of polarity, the "real" caring and nurturing Female energy is ready to interpenetrate each of our hearts and balance out the Masculine expansive powerful energy that has overtaken alone much of Creation and destabilized it. It is in the balancing and the unity of the two that our inner smiling probable future lays. Please allow this great and sacred energy in, and wish deeply for unity, for in that act lies the path to our happiness and salvation.

All great changes bring about in many much initial resistance, the degree of which will define the course of this Creation for a long time to come.

As many impacting events are about to happen, and even more unfold in the next months and years, often in an accelerated manner, one core issue will emerge as paramount in being the only real question to be asked and the only solution to be had.

"Where does your passion lay?"

Does it lay upon a world where all thoughts and common efforts are on com-passion, forgiveness, unity, happiness, and the notion that we are all - without any exception -connected within the notion of ONE?

Is it your truest desire to unite the parts within yourself, the family without, and our greatest and most beautiful family: mankind?

Or does your passion lay upon events, stories, legends, and philosophies which evoke and trigger separation, elitism, fear, violence, control, gore, and the anti-force to the sacred notion of Unity of all and everything within the One and Only?

Do you want to unify all polarities to usher the proclaimed glorious era, or polarize even more? For this is the only question to be asked.

Please, I beg of you, watch carefully what you invite in your heart.

If you invite within and resonate only with what unites us as one family and therefore exalts life, then the peace of the ONE, wondrous Creation, and life, longer that you can ever imagine, will be yours.

However, if you invite and resonate within upon visions of death, fear, and all that differentiates, divides, and separates us, then war, suffering, insecurity, and death will be yours.

All great spiritual masters came to tell us of this choice and the two ways of seeing the same reality, and some even expressed it in their lives and experiences on purpose, in order for us to understand the consequences.

A glass is either half full or half empty depending on your focus of attention. Both are true at the same time. It is your focus which will determine which path you will experience. You can either focus on what is lacking, or what is wondrous. You can focus on the unity and common thread of all existence, see the spectacular awe-some reality of creation, and experience the miraculous, or focus on what is lacking and then experience nothingness.

Please do not fall into the trap of "passion" for death again.

Please fall in love with yourself again, and with all your human brothers and sisters. For all are precious, magnificent, and sacred expressions of the ONE life force flowing through all living things."
