Today is an excellent day to change your story, the story you continually tell yourself about why your life is as it is.
I'm bad with numbers, I can't sell things, I don't feel comfortable selling myself, I don't like to call strangers, I can't get up in front of a group, I don't like to exercise, I'm not very coordinated, I don't have any artistic ability, I'm not creative, I can't stop smoking, I've had a weight problem all my life, love doesn't work out for me, people at work don't appreciate me, I'm too tired to do that, I don't have enough time, I don't have enough money, I'm too ill, I'm too old.
Do you accept any of these as your truth?
They are not the truth. They are old thoughts, left rattling around in your brain. They are the old stories that you have accepted about yourself and now repeat out of habit.
Today is a new day, a day of wonder, a day filled with possibilities. Do not drag your old stories into it, training your mind to continue to think in old ways. Today, refuse to tell the old story. Find a new one to tell.
Remember that what you think and say are conditioning your powerful brain to believe them as truth. Consciously, right now, tell a new story, tell your brain that things have changed; begin to program yourself into a new truth for your body and your mind.
Say "Exercise makes me feel wonderful" enough times and after a while you it will become truth to you. After a while you will feel compelled to find some exercise you love to do.
What you tell your brain becomes your truth and your reality. You cannot help it. It will propel you toward the action that will begin to make it so. And when that desire for action comes, follow it.
Say to yourself, "I am very good at calling strangers." Say it enough times and after a while you will feel that you really ought to make that phone call you have been putting off for weeks. And when that desire for action comes, take a deep breath, pick up the phone and make the call. And then, regardless of the outcome of the call, you will begin to realize that you actually survived, and the next call will be easier. And if you keep on making the calls, eventually, it will become just a routine thing you do every day, like brushing your teeth and washing the dishes. It may not be the most fun part of your day, but it will not be an enormous problem, either.

Change With The Times To Get Maximum Success

There are certain ways to achieve certain things. Every way depends on the time and circumstances that one is in. Success does not depend on blindly following ancient ways. Not only would such a procedure reveal a lack of maturity and wisdom, when you become excessively rigidified, necessary flexibility could be lost. Understand that the best way to achieve something is also in harmony with the times you are in. But when the times change, what is best before may not be best now, so change the way.
Change with the times to get maximum success. Humanity is always progressing. Circumstances change so that people can achieve more of something, in less time and with lesser effort required. New resources show up that weren’t available before to make this possible. People fail to make use of these new resources when they stick to the old way of doing things. Opportunity lost is equivalent with failure. The ones that capitalize on advancements do far better, and they get there a lot quicker than others.
Taking on new ways of doing things is to go with the flow and to follow the Tao. Even people teaching the Tao may not be following it in terms of their teaching style. The Tao is the principle of origin, creation and universal movement. Some people think that certain ways of doing things are best because they are according to the Tao. But those ways are according to the Tao only in the times that they emerged. New ways come from the Tao in a different time. To change the ways with time is the way of Tao.
Change in order to survive. The new has its place in the new and the old has its place in the old. Something only continues to exist through the act of recreation. The ways that remain of the old without changing form will phase out and become obsolete. It is the essence of things that are unchanging, but their forms must change for better existence and function in the circumstances they are in. What was a good way in the past would now be a poor way compared to another way that’s better in the present.
Some people blindly following the ancient ways when they prefer to be old school. Their spiritual intellect is stuck at a certain level of awareness and they think their way is the way to operate even in the present time. There is a situation where a group of sheep would jump over a fence that is in their path. But when the fence is removed after some time, other sheep that travel along that path would jump over that very same spot although there is no barrier. Such is the inefficiency of blindly being old school.
When you adapt the correct response to a contemporary situation, you may face criticism and resistance. But such an action signifies the highest foresight. It denotes being able to see the progression of things and how to fit in with the universal master plan. The ignorant would judge the contemporary as having compromised on their standards and deviating from the true path. But it is the contemporary ones who kept the standards and remained true, while the rest have regressed due to lack of change.
In everything we do, we either progress or regress, we never stand still. Only those that change progress while the rest regress. The ones who know essence are always changing form. True spirituality and authenticity is internal and not external. Those who are most externally conservative are usually the most unauthentic and unspiritual as well. The target is always moving and when you keep firing at the same spot, you’ll miss the mark. Those who keep the standards are those that change with the times.
Remember that each and every one of the “ancient ways” was at one time an innovation that encountered resistance as well. Just as those innovations have now become part of fixed tradition, so in time will the present necessary initiatives become accepted. The best ways are not ancient but they are futuristic, because circumstances are most advanced in later times. Hyperdimensional beings know the most advanced way of things because they transcend space time. But use what’s best for current times.
Acting in accord with present circumstances, even if it means going against tradition, is the mark of living wisdom, even though getting people to accept new ideas for their own benefit is often an uphill battle. Since most people resist change, the best strategy for instituting transformation is to skillfully and invisibly guide current trends towards the changes required rather than trying to forcibly institute revolutionary alterations in one fell swoop. Be careful not to force the institution of what people don’t like.
Adopt what’s best from whatever source. In the path of spiritual development, this is also the method to adopt. All of philosophy, science and religion provide knowledge of the universe and God. Humanity’s transition through time is for the purpose of discovering the fullness of God. Remember that all sources of truth and understanding come from the One Source. Everything is a part that forms the bigger picture. It’s how you piece the pieces together that counts. Integration is the way to complete development.
Whatever is no longer appropriate from former systems is to be abandoned while whatever is deemed beneficial, no matter the source, should be fruitfully adopted. This is the principle behind innovation, a means by which businesses become much more efficient. There has never been any constant in traditions or culture. The way of the universe is to change with the times. To change with change is the changeless state. You get best results in all things when you change with the times.
